When the earthquake struck Mandalay on March 28th, panic rippled through the city. Buildings crumbled. Lives were lost. And for thousands of animals who already lived on the margins, survival became even harder.

But amidst the chaos, one woman never stopped showing up: Khinthuzarko.

Long before the earthquake, Khinthuzarko was already a lifeline for countless stray dogs in Mandalay. A dedicated feeder, she has worked side by side with Let’s Save The Strays International, caring for the dogs we’ve spayed, neutered, and vaccinated. Every day, she brings food, water, and watchful eyes to the streets—ensuring the animals are safe, fed, and loved.

When the earthquake hit, her response was immediate. While others fled to safety, she ran toward the dogs—searching for those who had scattered in fear, digging through rubble to find familiar faces, and carrying food into the hardest-hit areas, even when her own safety was at risk.

She did this without hesitation. Without complaint. Without ever once thinking of herself first.

In the weeks that followed, as temperatures soared and resources ran dry, Khinthuzarko became even more essential. Her presence allowed us to locate injured dogs, identify those who needed medical care, and deliver food where it was needed most. She was our eyes, our ears, and our heart on the ground.

We often say that TNVR is only successful if it’s supported by the community. Khinthuzarko is that community. Her selfless love and unwavering dedication have helped us carry out our mission in the darkest of times.

She is not just a feeder. She is a hero.

And thanks to YOU—our supporters—we are able to continue providing her with food, supplies, and the backup she needs to keep going.

Help heroes like Khinthuzarko keep going.

Your support fuels the frontline of compassion.
