Meet Lam: A Second Chance at Peace

Lam is a gentle, older soul living quietly at a monastery in Mae Rim, Thailand. Like so many dogs in the region, Lam was once owned—until she was abandoned at the temple, left to fend for herself. Monasteries across Thailand often become the final refuge for dogs like Lam, taken in by compassionate monks despite limited resources.
Recently, the monk who now cares for Lam noticed her belly was swelling and feared something was wrong. He reached out to Let’s Save The Strays International and our trusted partner Amandine Lecesne from Hand to Paw. Together, we brought Lam to a local veterinary clinic for a full workup.
The diagnosis was heartbreaking: kidney failure. But with early intervention and the right medication, we were able to relieve the fluid buildup and give Lam her comfort back. She has since gained weight, is eating well, and wags her tail when we visit. She knows she's loved.
While her long-term prognosis remains guarded, Lam is no longer suffering. She’s living her golden days in peace, surrounded by kindness.
This is the difference YOU make.
Thanks to your support, dogs like Lam don’t have to face illness and abandonment alone. You give them the gift of comfort, care, and compassion—even when the road ahead is short.
From all of us, and from Lam—thank you.
