Connect With Amy

Amy Shroff, VMD, is the Founder and CEO of Let’s Save The Strays International and a veterinarian with more than three decades of experience in emergency and critical care medicine and animal welfare.

A 1992 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Shroff founded the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center of New England (VESCONE) in 2001. She built and led the 24-hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital until its acquisition by BluePearl Veterinary Partners in 2013.

Her animal welfare work has taken her around the world, including India, Thailand, the Caribbean, and Myanmar. She has worked with organizations including Elephant Nature Park, Hand to Paw, Welfare for Stray Dogs, and Nevis Animal Speak in Nevis, St. Kitts and Nevis, where she volunteered during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her work with free-roaming dog populations led to a particular focus on Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) and building local veterinary capacity. She has also advised and worked with other organizations developing TNVR programs, including the Pippi Project in Puerto Rico.

Dr. Shroff continues to travel regularly to Myanmar, working directly alongside LSTSI’s veterinary teams and local leadership. She is a strong advocate for locally led animal welfare programs and for addressing street dog overpopulation at its source through sterilization, vaccination, veterinary training, education, and community engagement.

She lives in New England with her husband, Howard Greenblatt, and their family of rescued dogs from Thailand.

Leadership

Board Leadership

Our board brings together expertise in veterinary medicine, nonprofit leadership, and global animal welfare in service of LSTSI's mission.

Gary James Evans

Board Chair

Gary Evans is president of the Alliance of Contraception in Cats and Dogs, a science-based non-profit that seeks to advance non-surgical sterilization technologies with a goal of dramatically increasing the scale at which safe, humane sterilizations can be performed. Having spent the first half of his career running software startups, he left the professional world to focus on mission-based work. He ran the veterinary hospital for the Humane Society of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor, MI for several years, overseeing the wellness practice, the HQHVSN clinic and TNVR program, and various programs aimed at providing medical and food resources for pet owners facing financial hardships.

Gary is an active TNVR advocate and has spent hundreds of hours trapping cats and providing consulting for small community cat organizations in the U.S. He serves on the board of Leuk’s Landing, a non-profit dedicated to extending the length and quality of life for cats with FeLV, and he served for three years as the Chair of the Training and Education Committee for the Michigan Pet Alliance. Gary lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and family, several rescue cats, and Ezra the dog, a rescue from the streets of Detroit. A published author, his passions outside of animal care include music, literature, technology, science communication, and history.

Howard Greenblatt

Board Member · Technology

Howard Greenblatt serves on the Board of Directors of Let’s Save The Strays International as the organization’s technology expert and advisor. With outreach, donor communications, fundraising, and program data increasingly dependent on digital systems, Howard’s expertise is central to LSTSI’s day-to-day operations and continued growth.

Howard has spent his career in information technology and has served as CTO and consultant with Ab Initio for the past 15 years. At LSTSI, he oversees the technology behind the organization’s website, donor CRM, Talea field surveys, and other digital platforms, while providing guidance and problem-solving wherever technology intersects with our work.

His expertise helps LSTSI connect with supporters around the world while also strengthening how we collect, manage, and use information from our programs in Myanmar.

Howard is a graduate of Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He lives in New England with Amy Shroff, VMD, and their household of rescued Thai dogs and fish.

Dana Lepler

Board Member · Outreach Coordinator

Dana Lepler serves as Outreach Coordinator and a member of the Board of Directors for Let’s Save The Strays International. With a professional background in international import-export and years of global travel, Dana brings a broad perspective and a natural ability to connect with people from many different backgrounds.

Dana excels at bringing people together and sharing LSTSI’s mission with individuals, businesses, community groups, and potential supporters. She is a passionate advocate for the organization’s work and is always looking for opportunities to introduce new people to LSTSI, build relationships, and expand the community supporting our work in Myanmar.

She is also the only LSTSI board member to have traveled to Myanmar, where she witnessed our programs firsthand and spent time with our local veterinary teams and volunteers. That experience gives Dana a unique perspective when speaking about our work, the communities we serve, and the challenges facing Myanmar’s street dogs.

A lifelong animal lover with a particular soft spot for rescue dogs, Dana is the mother of five boys and lives with her husband, a musician. She still believes no outfit is complete without at least a little dog fur.
